Forklift batteries and battery cells

Electric forklift trucks are quiet and environmentally friendly, much more so than diesel or gas-powered forklift trucks, giving off zero emissions and improving your carbon footprint and impact on the environment.

Battery Service Hub supplies a range of high quality and affordable forklift truck Pegasus Wet or Gel cells and batteries in British standard (BS – PZB), DIN (PZS) and bespoke manufactured to order sizes in different capacities.

Our Wet cell options can be assembled with a BFS (Battery Filling System) auto-filling watering system. By including this system, it can lengthen the life of the battery, potentially improving overall performance.

Whether you need 1 cell or a complete battery, ranging from 12, 24, 36, 48, 60, 72, 80 and 96-volt battery packs, from 96 amp hour (ah) through to 1860 amp hour (ah) at the 5 hour rate (C5), we can take care of your needs.

Battery Service Hub’s team are qualified to accurately advise, recommend and quote for the correct package to suit your needs, with great service and technical support. We purchase cells from a range of European manufacturers in order to keep lead times low, to meet your deadlines.

Forklift battery types

Identifying your forklift truck battery:

There are 2 different types of 2 volt cell in UK and Europe: Wet British Standard (BS – PzB), Wet DIN (PzS), and the same in Gel BS (PzV-BS) and DIN (PzV)

All British Standard cells have a width of 158mm and DIN 198mm (the lengths vary) and this determines how many positive plates are within the cell, increasing the capacity.

Some cells use higher capacity plates, which denotes a taller cell, which then determines a higher capacity cell. There are two measurements for height, to the top of the cell box, and to the top of the cell vent cap.

New vs used forklift batteries

Not all batteries require a full replacement. In some cases, replacing 1 or 2 cells which have failed is a cheaper option to ensure your truck keeps moving. However, replacing 3 or more cells starts to become a false economy.

Our team can advise the best, and most cost-effective option for your needs.
